Community Driven Curriculum
Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to center around the unique interests and ideas of the children, drawing inspiration from Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf, Behaviorist, Constructivist, Play-Based learning and Inquiry-based learning. Rather than adhering strictly to any one philosophy, we take a flexible, integrative approach, recognizing that no single method meets the needs of every child. By borrowing elements from multiple frameworks, we create a dynamic and responsive learning environment that allows us to individualize care, ensuring that each child is supported in a way that best nurtures their growth, curiosity, and development.
In our program, learning is hands-on and fueled by exploration where process is valued. Your child’s curiosity inspires each activity, from one-time events to projects that may grow into long-term discoveries, allowing their interests to evolve naturally. We emphasize the journey of learning, encouraging children to explore, experiment, and express themselves fully. This approach not only builds critical thinking but also celebrates the wonder of each moment along the way.
Creative expression is woven into every part of our curriculum. Daily, children are given rich opportunities to communicate, imagine, and create, leading to a well-rounded and joyful experience. At our school, your child will embark on a journey where learning is guided by their passions within a community that values each step they take, supported by a thoughtfully integrated, multi-faceted educational approach.
Intentional Learning Environments
Our learning environments are thoughtfully crafted to be safe, joyful, and supportive, promoting exploration and emotional well-being for every child. Rooted in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), our approach creates flexible spaces that embrace each child’s unique abilities, needs, and interests. UDL ensures that every child has the resources and opportunities they need to fully engage, learn, and thrive, regardless of their learning style or abilities.
Our classrooms are designed to provide comfort and foster genuine connections, nurturing curiosity and creative thinking in a secure and supportive atmosphere. Each space reflects the diverse values, cultures, and ideas of our children, families, and educators, honoring every child’s background and experiences.
We offer a variety of open-ended materials, always accessible to encourage independent exploration and expression. Children engage with these materials in their own ways, allowing them to follow their interests and develop confidence in their creativity.
Our classrooms are also adaptable, continuously evolving to support each child’s needs, interests, and work. By embodying the principles of UDL, we create inclusive spaces that celebrate each child’s uniqueness and encourage active participation in meaningful learning experiences.
